NICARAGUA VISITOR STATISTICS FROM 2016 – Continued Tourism Growth
2017-03-31 Tourism is one of the big income source for Nicaragua. Many of us who live and vacation here like it in Nicaragua because it is / can be a little rough around the edges and because it is not flooded with tourists like Costa Rica and Panama. Year over year, tourism here continues to grow.
According to data from the National Chamber of Tourism of Nicaragua (CANATUR), in 2016, Nicaragua received 1.5 million tourists, who left 642 million dollars in foreign exchange. The following NICARAGUA VISITOR STATISTICS are based on the count of Non-Resident Visitors, i.e. foreign passport holders that are not residents of Nicaragua and who paid the tourist visa fee upon entry.
